This is a generic term for insurance polices that cover motor vehicles and this is `Compulsory` throughout the EU. In the UK the responsibility to insure comes from the Road Traffic Act. The Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) Regulations 2000 amended the requirement to insure and added `other public place` after the term `road. This means that if you have any self propelled vehicle, machine or plant it is our advice to ensure that you have at least `Third Party Only` insurance cover on these vehicles. This is a generic term for a collection of covers that are available only as a standard group. They are usually designed to meet most of the insurance requirements of specific trades or groups of people. Due to their structure they have a simple a quick rating method allowing for a fast turnaround of documents. Packages tend to be `property lead` in that the presumed exposure to Liability claims is low thus they are not generally suitable for high risk occupations. Our view of insurance is that ‘insurance is a peoples business’ and as such it is based on relationships. For us to represent you fully we need all the information necessary to provide the correct advice and promote frank and open communication between us to help achieve this.
We normally earn a commission on the premiums for the insurance arrangements that we make, unless we have prearranged a fee instead, but our business strength comes for the broad mix of clients that we act for and the efforts that we make to secure their business year after year.
We are strong in the Commercial Insurance sector with a particular bias to Small Medium Enterprises [SME]. Our team includes a Complex Commercial Insurance specialist, a Commercial Package Insurance specialist and a Commercial Motor Insurance specialist [including Motor Fleet Insurance]. 70% of our business falls into these categories.
Despite our bias to SME we have also developed a number of key relationships with larger organisations where not only do we provide advice on all of their insurance requirements but we also involve the insurer at the board level establishing clear lines of communication for the dissemination of information and the handling of claims.
Having grown from a rural insurance background some 30% of our business lies within the Personal Insurance sectors of Motor Insurance [including Car Insurance], Home Insurance and other Leisure Insurances, like Small Craft Insurance or Boat Insurance, Caravan Insurance [including Mobile Home Insurance or Holiday Homes Insurance]. Here our team includes a Home Insurance specialist and a Motor Insurance specialist. Again this is supported by technology with over 85% of these policies being issued electronically providing for the instant issue of all documentation at the point of sale.
