British Insurance Brokers Association

BIBA is the UK’s leading trade association for insurance brokers and represents the interests or insurance brokers, intermediaries and their customers.

All of BIBA's members are regulated advisors who pride themselves on the professional advice and range of products and services they offer, always focused on the clients individual needs and requirements. Between them, they handle over three quarters of the UK's industrial, commercial and consumer insurance business.

BIBA is a major voice in the industry – advising members, the regulator, consumer bodies and other stakeholders on key insurance issues. In addition, the organisation provides training, unique schemes and facilities, technical advice, guidance on regulation and business support, and is helping to raise – and maintain – industry standards.

Institute of Insurance Brokers

The IIB was formed in 1987 as a professional association for over 1,000 insurance broking firms throughout the UK and represents their interests to HM Government, the Financial Services Authority, the EEA Commission and Parliament and all other relevant bodies throughout the World. It is a non-profit distributing organisation, limited by guarantee.

IIB members provide a vital service to both businesses and private individuals, making sure that their insurance arrangements meet demands and needs. Insurance can be extremely complex, with policies containing many terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties, which is why it always pays to obtain professional advice.

Westinsure

The Westinsure Group is an alliance of independent, community – based, insurance brokers. Its members are well established businesses in their own localities and have demonstrated value to local customers and insurers for many years.

The Chartered Insurance Institute [CII]

The CII represents ‘Professionalism in Practice’ as far as the UK Insurance Industry is concerned. It has 90,000 members and has been at the forefront in setting professional standards for over a century.

With a broad portfolio of education and qualification services is continually expanding to meet the changing requirements of companies and individuals across the financial services community.

Additionally the CII code of Ethics and Conduct establishes and articulates the values, responsibilities, obligations, and ethical considerations of members working in a professional capacity; and its Professional Standards Board advises Council on setting of standards for achievement of excellence and to offer guidance on CII Member and CII Internal governance standards.
